Rupena's Fine Foods

On south 76th street in West Allis WI, Rupena's is another local institution. Famous for their friendly service and exceptional meats, this deli, butcher shop and market has stood the test of time.

I am here buying lamb chops for Evan special birthday meal. Where else would I go?

Usinger's Famous Sausage

On Old World Third Street in Milwaukee Wisconsin is the the world famous Usinger's sausage factory.

I am here with dozens of Milwaukeans, in ritual preparation for Memorial day.

Dozens of choices of bestwurst and sausage are available along with a grabbag of factory second items.

This place is a popular tourist stop but it is also a staple for the locals.

Great places of Waukesha

Silurian spring

Hidden behind the post office and the YMCA an octagonal building holds one of the famous springs of Waukesha. Legend has it that native Americans were the first to recognize the health benefits of this spring.

The water from the Silurian spring was bottled and shipped around the country (like that of many of the Waukesha springs).

Great Places of Waukesha

White house of music. There are lots of music stores and each has its charms but the White House seems to be in a class of its own. It is very accessible for the beginner yet there is plenty here for the experienced musician. The people are really friendly.

Me favorite section is the guitar section, go figure.

Living in Waukesha

When I was at Discount Liquor last night I was thinking that it's kind of ironic that I live in Waukesha. During college many of my friends went to Carroll College in Waukesha and I lived in Milwaukee.

Now all of those people are far away and low and behold I live here.

Great Places of Waukesha

Discount Liquor. This store is a true classic. The selection of beers and wines is unmatched in the area and the prices are true to the name.

Stationary Mobile Post

I am sitting at my desk creating a mobile post that is not really very mobile at all. Still it is a topsy turvy world at best so what can one expect?
